Alle - The Winner of Google Play’s Best App 2024

➤ Harshit Madan, Pavan Patil and Prateek Agarwal’s Alle was Google Play’s Best App and Best App for Fun in 2024. Alle is an AI-powered fashion discovery app. It offers personalised outfit inspiration, connects you to products from multiple brands, and lets you virtually try on outfits before purchasing.
➤ Harshit, Pavan and Prateek were leaders at Meesho, spending 5-6 years there, before founding Alle in 2023. Harshit and Prateek are IIT Kharagpur graduates. Pavan is an IIT Roorkee graduate. With developments in genAI and LLM, the three felt these trends and changing consumer preferences presented an opportunity to reimagine the way people shop for fashion.
➤ Post its launch in March last year, Alle quickly reached 0.5 million downloads on the Play Store. The Google award is a recognition of its innovative features and user experience.
➤ You can ask Alle questions like, “What can I wear with this grey shirt?” or “What should I wear for brunch this weekend? I like to be minimal in my fashion.” The system then tries to understand age, gender, body type, preferred shopping platforms, brands, height, the user’s fashion preferences and current trends, and uses a combination of these to provide visual inspiration that users can act on – either by shopping or by using items they already own.
➤ Alle uses a combination of open-source and closed-source models – OpenAI, Anthropic, Llama. It also built an in-house search and recommendation system to better understand user queries.
